KidzTeachKids.com is a free educational maths website built by a kid, for kids. It has no company behind it — just a young developer who wanted to make maths more fun.

📋 What Information We Collect

When you create an Explorer Profile:

• Parent or guardian's email address — this is the account email. We use it to verify the account and send password reset emails only.
• Explorer name — a fun nickname the kid chooses (NOT a real name)
• Age group — one of: 6-8, 9-11, or 12+
• Favourite colour — used for the profile badge
• Password — stored securely using Supabase Auth (we never see your actual password)

As you use the site:

• Game progress — which levels you've passed in each theme
• Earned trophies — which rewards you've unlocked
• Theme choice — which math theme you prefer

What we do NOT collect:

• ❌ The child's real name
• ❌ The child's email address
• ❌ Location or GPS data
• ❌ Photos or videos
• ❌ Any payment information
• ❌ Advertising identifiers or tracking cookies

🎯 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only to:

• Let you log in and see your progress on any device
• Save your game levels, rewards, and theme preferences
• Send password reset emails (only when requested)
• Send account verification emails when a new account is created

We do not use your information for advertising, marketing emails, or sharing with third parties.

👨‍👩‍👧 Information for Parents (COPPA)

This website is designed for children and we take child privacy seriously.

Why we require a parent email:

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the US, and similar laws in other countries, require that we collect a parent or guardian's contact details — not the child's — for users under 13. This is why we ask for a parent email address when creating an account.

What parents can do:

• ✅ View what information is stored — email [email protected]
• ✅ Delete the account — use the "Delete Account" option in the profile settings, or email us
• ✅ Change the password — use "Forgot Password" on the login screen
• ✅ Refuse data collection — if you do not want your child to have an account, they can still use the site without creating a profile (progress won't be saved across devices)

🔐 How We Store Your Data

We use Supabase — a secure, open-source database platform — to store account data.

• Passwords are never stored in plain text — Supabase uses industry-standard hashing
• All data is stored on secure servers in the European Union (Frankfurt)
• Each user can only access their own data — Row Level Security prevents any account from reading another's data
• Data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted)
• We do not store credit card or payment information (the site is free)

🤝 Third-Party Services

We use only two third-party services:

We use no advertising networks, no analytics trackers, and no social media plugins.

🗑️ Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time. This permanently removes:

• Your email address and password
• Your explorer name and profile settings
• All game progress
• All earned trophies

How to delete:

1. Log in to your account
2. Click your profile avatar (top right)
3. Click "Edit Profile"
4. Click "Delete Account"

Or email us at [email protected] and we'll delete it within 7 days.

📝 Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We will not make changes that reduce your privacy rights without clear notice.
